App & Product Design (UX/UI) for Startups

Brand and product must feel like one: the app is often the touchpoint your customers see most.

Updated: September 2026

The agencies in our analysis offer UX design, prototyping and UI design through to implementation. What matters for startups: test early with a prototype before spending on development.

Frequently asked questions

Does the agency also develop the app?
Some do, many work with development partners. State in the questionnaire whether you have your own developers.
What do I need for a good quote?
The main user flows, the platforms and the approximate number of screens.
Is a prototype worth it?
Yes. It costs far less than development and shows early whether users understand the app.

Would you be willing to pay part of the fee in company shares (equity)? Some agencies work with startups partly in exchange for a stake – this can lower the cash amount. Whether it is possible is always up to the agency.
