Brand Strategy & Positioning for Startups

The foundation of every brand: what your startup stands for, for whom – and why people should choose you over the competition.

Updated: September 2026

Before a logo is designed, good agencies clarify the strategy. It makes every later decision faster: name, design, website, pitch deck. For startups it is also the basis for investor meetings and the first hires.

Questionnaire: Brand strategy & positioning

Frequently asked questions

Does an early-stage startup need a brand strategy?
Yes – in a lean form. Clear positioning saves time and money later on name, design, website and pitch deck.
What do I bring to the workshop?
Business plan or pitch deck, knowledge of customers and competitors, and the willingness to make decisions as a team.
What is the difference between strategy and design?
Strategy defines what the brand says and to whom. Design translates that into logo, colours and imagery.
